Selling on eBay is one of the easiest ways to earn money online because eBay is one of the largest online auction and shopping site. Now, eBay has expanded its market to over 30 countries with millions of buyers and sellers. I am sure whatever your product is, you would find some potential buyer and customer.
What to sell on eBay is a very important decision to make. Finding the right product to sell on eBay defines the difference between success and failure of your business. If you are just starting, I would recommend you to sell your old junk. You will get a sense of what kind of product is hot and you can become familiar with eBay’s selling platform at the same time. It is also a good idea to check the current eBay Pulses to find out about the popular products.
Once you earned some money by selling your old stuff on eBay, you can start outsourcing merchandise. You can start with the products in local dollar stores and move on to wholesalers in your area. Wholesalers will sell at a much cheaper price if you agree to buy in bulk. Some good product choices would be electronics and computers.
If you don’t want to worry about shipping or maintaining an inventory, you can also try drop shipping. There are many drop shippers willing to handle all these for a small amount of fee. Of course, the disadvantage of drop shipping is that you are putting your reputation in some other people’s hands. It depends on the drop shipper to ship your items on time and you have no control over that.
Make sure you include a good photo of your product when you are listing on eBay. Pictures are very important; good photos can attract more buyers and as a result higher bids. Informative description and eye-catching title are also crucial for a successful listing.
There are several types of eBay listing, like auction-style, fixed-price and classified ads listings. Auction style listings are used for selling two rare or precious items. Buyers will bid on the item and the highest bidder will be eligible to purchase it. Fixed-price listings are ideal for selling bulk products. It’s ideal if you have a large amount of a particular product to sell. Classified ads can bring your product or service greater exposure. You usually pay a monthly fee for a classified ads listing. It is important to choose the correct type of listing for your product.
Lastly, remember most people do their shopping on weekends. So make sure you listing does not expire right before the golden shopping time.
